Abstract
Poems under the title ¿After Livy¿ by Graham Allen are presented, accompanied by a collection of drawings by artist Steve Mumford from his trip to Iraq in April and May 2008. "1." First Line: The storm fizzes and crackles; Last Line: Hot spears whizzing past their heads. "2." First Line: Livy on the second wave, gives the detail: Last Line: What dream? What lago did he despair on? "3." First Line: Poetry is at war with history. Last Line: Since smarty-pants beat his neighbour at chess.
