Analysis of forward error correction in the upstream channel of 10Gb/s optically amplified TDM-PONs

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsChapterpeer-review

Abstract

We experimentally investigate the performance of forward error correction operated in burst-mode using a burst-mode receiver. We show reduced error correction capability due to transients from the burst-mode receiver at the start of each burst.
