Abstract
Efficient integration of distributed generation (DG) and energy storage systems to distribution networks can help improve the reliability of supply. In order to evaluate the impact of these technologies on reliability, several Monte Carlo simulation techniques have been proposed in recent years, yet none of the analytical methods that are known to be more computationally efficient. This study proposes an analytical formulation for assessing the reliability impact of energy storage supporting DG in supply restoration of isolated network areas. To validate the proposed method and evaluate the impact of DG and energy storage on reliability, a real distribution network was used and the simulation results were provided.
