Building 3-D structures for negative permittivity metamaterials

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsChapterpeer-review

Abstract

3-D metamaterials constructed using small random metal inclusions are investigated in this paper. As these materials are mixtures consisting of two components, dielectric and metal particles, the random process is applied to distribute them in terms of one or two layers. A waveguide simulator is employed to evaluate the permittivity of these mixtures. As the random process has a strong impact on material behaviour, several snapshots among the random distributions evaluate their effects at given ratios of metal and dielectric.
