Abstract
Cereal grains or their by-products provide essential nutrients and are used as energy source in both human and animal diet. It is expected that with the growing population, global demand for food and feed will increase dramatically in the coming decades. This chapter details various cereal and cereal-based alternatives that are currently utilized in animal feed products. It covers the nutritional values of cereal grains and their by-products along with typical requirements of animal diets. Moreover, it summarizes the various feed processing technologies and their applicability to improve and enhance the quality and safety of cereal grains and their by-products for animal feed.
