Abstract

The use of an algorithm to extract the optical scattering properties from optical coherence tomography (OCT) images of tissues is discussed. The OCT images obtained from postmortem aortic specimens can be analyzed using the algorithm. The application of OCT algorithm in in vitro aortic specimens leads to differentiate the lesion types. It is concluded that the OCT imagery would be a promising technique to increase the diagnostic value of OCT.
