Abstract
Preparing and supporting the teaching workforce to craft knowledge-based and evidence-informed assessment and feedback practices for increasingly diverse classrooms in a digital age are multifaceted and complex. Exploring assessment and feedback practices in teacher education is, however, as important as it is challenging. This volume includes a comprehensive range of articles focusing on diverse issues, questions and topics related to assessment, and feedback practices in teacher education from across the globe and sheds light on this topic from multiple perspectives. Salient themes include innovative assessment in a hybrid-learning era; feedback effectiveness in teacher education; learner experience, agency and achievement; development of scholarship of teaching and learning to inform assessment and feedback processes. This concluding chapter reflects on these four themes in the context of innovative and authentic assessment and feedback design, development and deployment in teacher education and outlines key takeaways. It then summarises implications for teacher education, with a particular focus on teacher educator knowledge growth.
