Abstract

Water and Beverages are the most consumed liquids in the world, intended to satisfy human thirst. The chemical arrangements of these pure liquids are being altered intentionally for a long time, which have decreased its quality and provided more profit to dealers. The liquid adulteration is a life-threatening issue, which has caused diseases such as kidney failure, diabetes, blood pressure, heart failure etc. This issue has been detected through expensive and large equipment for many years, which requires the modified and simple alternative solution. Therefore, an efficient and economical device embedded with photonic sensor has been proposed using AS7265x Triad spectral engine to detect the adulteration. It uses an on-chip spectroscopy and working proof of concept has been presented by characterizing different adulterated liquid samples. It offers the user-friendly and cost-effective approach, which gives an effective and rapid results with minor sample preparations efficiently. Several experiments have been performed on various liquid samples like honey, water, milk, juice and ice-cream syrup to elucidate the change in absorption with respect to concentration of solution. It has experienced that these adulterations have affected the characteristics, properties, and viscosity of liquid which are harmful for a human health.
