CREATE: A reflexive research tool to engage with children and youth

We set out to edit this book circa March 2020, just as COVID was arriving to upset the world-including the realms of universities, schools and, in turn, teaching and research. It was a reflexive time for us as an editing team as we waded through discussions around how small our research seemed in a world that was quite literally uncertain about what lay around the next corner. Yet, as we complete this particular amalgamation of research from the field of physical education and youth sport, driven as we are to better understand research done with and for young people, we are mindful of how this book has contributed to broader debates within the literature and the field.
