Abstract
Since the late 20th century, the rise of conservative and reactionary groups in the West has sparked profound interest in right-wing movements and their ties to Christianity. This volume analyzes the “blue wave” that has brought them to power in Europe and Latin America, highlighting the region's shift toward the preeminence of neo-Pentecostalism over historical Catholicism. The work explores how these movements utilize social media to disseminate post-truths, foster polarization, and legitimize violence by invoking “God, Country, and Home.” Through a historical, comparative, and interdisciplinary approach, the book places the religious phenomenon at the heart of the analysis. It offers deep insight into the complex relationship between Christianity and the political Right in Latin America, covering everything from the evolution of Catholicism to the influence of Evangelicalism across various political and social contexts—such as border regions and authoritarian regimes. This rigorous study challenges “easy certainties,” inviting the reader to develop a nuanced understanding of the phenomenon
