Abstract

On January 21, with work almost complete, the Round Hill tunnels on the A20 in Kent were the subject of the first British Tunnelling Society meeting in 1993 at the ICE. The keen interest shown by a capacity audience in the first use of the NATM in UK road tunnels was matched by the enthusiasm and knowledge of the three co-presenters.
