Abstract

A highly sensitive piezoelectric crystal sensor for human transferrin has been developed. The crystal was coated with protein A and then reacted with anti-human transferrin antibody. Human transferrin concentrations in the range of 10-4 to 10- 1 mg/ml could be detected by the system. The sensitivity of the protein A coated crystal was 10 fold higher than the polyethyleneimine coated crystal.
