Abstract

The electrical performance of fabricated E-core micro-transformers was presented and the use of the thin film components in a DC-DC converter was discussed. The use of high aspect ratio coils was shown to be the best way to improve the efficiency while keeping the power density high. The measured resistance and inductance of four designs was shown. The full investigation on the efficiency and power capabilities of the devices was reported.
