Enabling photonic technologies at 2 μm

Abstract

In this paper, we demonstrate optical injection locking in the 2 μm wavelength region between two discrete semiconductor lasers. We will highlight how such behaviour can be used as a key enabling technology in this new wavelength window, motivated by system improvements such as better filtering and linewidth reduction for advanced modulation formats.
