Abstract

Mnemonics are incredibly useful for learning, ensuring a comprehensive assessment. They not only support student midwives in remembering key steps but can empower new mothers by helping them understand physical recovery after birth. The mnemonic in this article uses imagery of a mother-baby dyad in their postpartum BUBBLE, a simple yet effective way to ensure quality postpartum care. I love how it captures both the clinical essentials and the mother-baby dyad. In addition, the role of the midwife in transforming postpartum care is explored and how our leadership skills can be used to advocate for optimal and personalised care at this critical time.
