Equivalent Circuit Modelling of Fluxgate Sensors in Verilog-A

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsChapterpeer-review

Abstract

This paper presents a general equivalent circuit model for fluxgate sensors. Non-linear magnetic elements are implemented in Verilog-A which allows for fast simulation in Cadence. This work builds on previous studies by modelling compensation winding behaviour, which facilitates simulation of closed loop stability and bandwidth of fluxgates for circuit designers. Data from a PCB fluxgate is used to determine the performance of the model. The model shows close agreement in the sensor linear region and also simulates the behaviour of the non-linear region.
