Abstract

This introduction sets out the rationale of our handbook on interdisciplinary research methods in EU law, and, simultaneously, for conducting interdisciplinary research in that field of law. It discusses the benefits of the pluralisation of EU legal scholarship. Thanks to the attention paid to the broader context of European integration in which EU law develops, interdisciplinary research methods favour the advancement of academic discourse and the re-conceptualisation of legal developments in the EU. The introductory chapter concludes by showcasing the contributions included in this handbook, in order of appearance.
