Abstract
The Law of the People's Republic of China on Charitable Organizations, approved in March 2016, represents a milestone in China's legislative history. It is an important step both for regulating a key sector and for the realization of the rule of law in China. However, to fully comment on the Law, it is not enough to examine its legal provisions; a more comprehensive assessment is needed that also takes into account the principles of the legislation, its content, and its procedure.
