Abstract

A sensor capable of small volume refractive index measurements in liquids has been fabricated and tested. The measurement is based on a leaky waveguide device fabricated with Su8 on a pyrex substrate. A microfluidic channel has been integrated directly onto the fluidic sensor wafer. The device monitors the mode coupling angle to the device. The measurement of glycerol content is demonstrated.
