Abstract
A flat Luneburg lens antenna is designed, fabricated and tested in the 60 GHz frequency band. The lens is built using an additive manufacturing technique and is excited by a conventional WR-15 rectangular waveguide. The radiation characteristics (main beam and side lobe level) of the lens are very stable against frequency and agree well with the results obtained from simulation. At the centre frequency of 60 GHz, gain of the lens system is approximately 15.3 dB with a half power beamwidth of 11.5 degrees.
