Abstract

In this paper, the mode and loss characteristics of a multimode graded-index Si 1-x Ge x strip waveguide have been determined for mode-division and wavelength division datacenter applications. The mode-loss characteristics have been shown as a first selection criteria for the number of wavelengths and modes than can be used.
