Monolithic integration of photonic devices for use in a regrowth-free CoWDM transmitter

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This letter demonstrates the monolithic integration of a range of photonic devices, such as couplers, splitters, lasers, and modulators to create a photonic integrated circuit suitable for use as part of a regrowth free CoWDM transmitter. The device was fabricated using UV lithography and did not require any epitaxial regrowth. The optical extinction of the modulator was shown to improve by up to 9.8 dB by injection locking the adjacent laser to longer wavelengths.
