title = "National Examples of Practice to Tackle Sexual Violence and Harassment at Third Level: The UCC Bystander Intervention Programme and IADT Moving Parts Campaign",
abstract = "The National Framework to End Sexual Violence and Harassment in Irish Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) mandates the development by all HEIs of targeted initiatives, meaning {\textquoteleft}Direct student-facing activities including workshops/classes that promote an understanding of consent and calling out unacceptable behaviour{\textquoteright} (Department of Education, 2019, p. 8). This chapter focuses on two national practice examples that support this objective across the Irish higher education system: the Bystander Intervention programme at University College Cork (UCC) and the Moving Parts animation campaign led by D{\'u}n Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) in collaboration with UCC Bystander Intervention and University of Galway Active* Consent. It details the development, outcomes and impact of each programme, both designed to instil pro-social behaviours and attitudes at personal and collective levels. What is notable about these two case studies is the depth of collaborative efforts within and across the higher education sector and the willingness to make both programmes freely accessible to support cultural change.",
