Abstract

The general aim in this work to eventually develop a nonlinear predictive control scheme for a polymerisation reactor, based on a nonlinear neural predictive model of the plant. As a first step, this paper introduces the polymerisation reactor, describes a nonlinear predictor that acts as a Smith Predictor to remove a measurement delay and finally discusses the development of a platform to allow for the on-line implementation of neural network based predictive controllers.
