Abstract
Yields and spectra of neutrons produced in the bombardment of light nuclei by deuterons of energies up to 20 MeV were measured in order to investigate the usefulness of the reactions as high-intensity neutron sources that are used for applications in radio-therapy. Neutrons emitted at angles up to 32 deg were studied for thin targets of deuterium and beryllium, and for thick targets of lithium, beryllium, and carbon.
