Abstract
This paper presents a new UPS design suitable for personal computer applications. It features a novel ac/dc converter derived from the integration of a non-isolated buck-boost ac/dc converter with an isolated bi-directional dc/dc converter. Benefits include power factor correction, a single high-frequency transformer, inherent current limiting and soft switching.
