Abstract
Several therapeutic avenues are being explored in search of pharmaceutical agents to reduce inflammatory symptoms in patients with Crohn disease (CD). Initial cost for some agents may be high, but cost-effectiveness studies may show a reduction in the need for hospitalization or surgery in these patients. The search for new, inexpensive agents that effectively manage CD continues.
