Abstract
The optimization of nonlinear finite impulse response (FIR) differentiator for the reduction of quantization error while processing signals of constant or slowly varying rate was studied. The impact of quantisation noise was reduced by employing a nonlinear, number theoretic differentiator (NTFIRD). The results showed that the mean-squared error for input sequences can be reduced by using theoretic approach to the rate estimation.
