Abstract
It is argued that Caligula did not abduct Orestina/Orestilla during her wedding to Piso to marry her himself and then divorce her within a couple of days and banish her even later because she had returned to Piso. Instead, he may have arrested her at her wedding feast because he believed that she, or her husband, or both even, had insulted him and his sister by implying that they were engaged in an incestuous relationship.
