On the use of UHF RFID antenna systems customized for robotic applications

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsChapterpeer-review

Abstract

The use of RFID as supplementary support for navigation of robots is not new in literature. Nevertheless, commercial RFID devices are not thought for robotic applications, with consequent impact on the performance of the system. In this work, based on specific requirements individuated and discussed, ad-hoc RFID reader antennas and platform-robust tags are designed, realized and tested on a practical case study. The obtained impressive results demonstrate the appropriateness of the proposed approach.1
