Abstract
This paper presents an modified GaN-based bridgeless Dual single-ended primary inductor converter (SEPIC) PFC with full-range zero-voltage switching (ZVS) turn-on for the application of a step-down AC-DC converter. To achieve the ZVS turn-on for main switches, the conventional SEPIC PFC's synchronous diode is replaced by MOSFET. Thus, the synchronous switch can provide some negative current by adding more extra turn-on time after the current of the synchronous switch decrease to zero. Operational analysis of the bridgeless SEPIC PFC and theoretical analysis for the ZVS turn-on have been investigated. The analysis and design are verified by experimental results by a 97% peak efficiency 300 W prototype with a switching frequency range from 400 kHz to 1 MHz.
