Abstract
Optically pumped 1.3 micron vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs) were investigated. The study aims for a new long wavelength VCSEL structure as an alternative to direct current injection. The devices exhibit excellent performance and offered a number of theoretical advantages.
