  • University College Dublin

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsChapterpeer-review

Abstract

This chapter describes how pediatric palliative care functions in the Republic of Ireland. Although pediatric palliative care is a recent development, it has the benefit of an agreed policy on the way forward for pediatric palliative care. This chapter provides a critical appraisal of the policy and the particular challenges in terms of how its recommendations resonate with the larger policy dimensions of palliative care in Ireland. It highlights the case of two well known pediatric programs that offer pediatric palliative care services to children in the Republic of Ireland.
