Abstract
The book titled Promoting Labour Market Participation of Parents with Young Children accross the EU is the final output of a research project conducted by the Faculty of Law at ELTE Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest - the highest-ranked law school in Hungary (https://www.ajk.elte.hu/en/) - and the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS), Budapest, a member of the Talent Harnessing Platform 2023–2026 (https://www.koppmariaintezet.hu/en). This research project focused on selected issues related to the European Pillar of Social Rights and the Demography Toolbox in the EU. It aimed to examine labour market challenges faced by families with young children, particularly parents seeking to return to work, with an emphasis on existing national labour and social law measures, good practices, and future challenges. The research encompassed 17 Member States of the European Union. National experts contributed reports on their respective countries, which, along with an introductory article, were reviewed and compiled into a volume published as an open-access resource. To further disseminate the findings, the Faculty of Law and KINCS jointly organized a scientific symposium in Budapest on 15 November 2024. During the event, participating experts discussed the scientific outcomes of the project.
