Abstract
The letter B, or the combination BA, in association with the title of consul on three of the four types of solidi struck during the revolt of the Heraclii in 608-10. It is argued here that B and A abbreviate two separate words describing Heraclius’ appointment or character, where the use of B alone abbreviates the same phrase even further.
