Recording and Reporting of Recruitment Strategies in Trial Protocols, Registries and Publications is Non-Existent

Achieving recruitment targets is a challenge to every clinical trial’s success. Recruitment strategies are a key part of the trial process. The aim of this study was to investigate how trialists record and report their recruitment strategies and the recruiter details in trial protocols, registries and publications. Secondary outcomes were: to establish if the person who recruits the participants to the trial impacts recruitment timelines and targets; to determine the accuracy of reporting of the recruitment targets in trial protocols, registry and publication. We chose ovarian cancer trials to answer these research questions.
