Abstract
The reflective semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA) for spectrally sliced WDM-PONs were analyzed. The susceptibility of the modulated SOA to external reflections was measured using a controlled back reflector. A system demonstration of 8 Gbit ethernet channels over 25 km of standard access fiber was also presented.
