Reliability assessment of active distribution networks considering distributed energy resources and operational limits

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsChapterpeer-review

Abstract

This paper presents an analytical technique for reliability evaluation of distribution networks that considers Distributed Generation (DG) and switching actions in order to alleviate network constraints violation during the restoration process. Reliability indices have been assessed for scenarios with dispatchable and nondispatchable DG and the results obtained emphasised the importance of considering operational limits of the network components, especially during the restoration process at high load levels.
