Abstract
In response to comments made by Yamada and Kimura, we present corrected data for the second harmonic generation from GaAs (100) surface in air, for the polarization conditions, p-in/p-out, rectifying a minor error made in an earlier publication. In addition, we discuss the assertion by Yamada and Kimura that rotational anisotropy in the measured responses is due solely to the presence of surface steps, noting that surface oxides also influence this response dramatically.
