Room temperature CW operation of InGaAsP/InP microdisk lasers

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

The fabrication and properties of novel optically pumped InGaAsP quantum well microdisk lasers are described. A variety of designs are characterized, including conventional pedestal-supported disks, oxide embedded designs, annuli and disks supported on glass substrates. The latter have been especially successful and have lased continuous wave when optically pumped using a standard edge-emitting diode laser.
