Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Technologies and applications based on short range radio communication links have pervaded almost all aspects of modern life. From wireless doorbells through Bluetooth headsets and WiFi browsing to streaming high definition multimedia, we have never been so dependent on short range links. This paper outlines some of the physical layer requirements for short range radio systems and gives an overview of some of the novel applications and future trends for this area of technology.
