Single-photon detector based long-range fibre-optic distributed temperature sensor

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsChapterpeer-review

Abstract

We present a long-range distributed temperature sensor based on Raman scattering in single-mode fibre. Using high-extinction pulses, standard telecom components and single-photon avalanche detectors, we demonstrate a 50km sensor with 3m resolution.
