Abstract

Photon emission patterns of a single photoexcited InGaAs quantum dots (QD) were investigated. The prepatterning provides seeds for the nucleation of QDs at prescribed positions. It was observed that site controlled pyramidal QD emits one photon at a time. The results show that reproductibility of the QD structures facilitated to design and obtain QDs with well-defined electronic states.
