Abstract

Our results showed no significant differences between antithrombin-thrombin complex and fibrin-degradation (D-dimer) in pre-eclampsia and normal pregnancy although the trend was toward higher levels in pre-eclampsia. This would suggest that the fetal circulation of pregnancies complicated by pre-eclampsia are protected to some extent from the adverse effects of pre-eclampsia on the haemostatic system.
