Abstract
The Lisheen deposit is located in Co. Tipperary and was discovered in April 1990. The deposit is hosted within the Lower Carboniferous limestones of the Rathdowney Trend. Topographically the area is a broad plain with an average elevation of 130 m above sea level. The zinc-lead mineralization is generally flat-lying, occurring at depths ranging between 60 and 240 m, and varies between 0.5 and 30 m in thickness. The project has undergone a full feasibility study and an environmental impact statement has been completed. -from Author
