Abstract
We present the results of a photometric study of the optical counterpart of the X-ray transient GS2000 + 25 in quiescence. With a mean R magnitude of ∼ 21.2, we present evidence for short-term variability on a time-scale of hours which is consistent with an ellipsoidal modulation of the secondary with a period of 4.1 hr. This indicates an orbital period of ∼ 8.2 hr. We compare the properties of GS2000 + 25 with the soft X-ray transient A0620 - 00.
