Abstract
The Namurian succession of the Leinster coalfield is subdivided into four formations, three of which are new. In ascending order these are: the Luggacurren Shale formation, the Killeshin Siltstone formation, the Bregaun Flagstone formation and the Moyadd Coal formation. The development of the basin is discussed. -R.E.
