Abstract

This special issue of Women's History brings together a number of papers derived from a one-day symposium held at the University of Hertfordshire in June 2019 on the theme of 'Women and the Family in Ireland: New Directions and Perspectives, 1550-1950. The issue is co-edited by Leanne Calvert (University of Hertfordshire) and Maeve O'Riordan (University College, Cork). Contributions are included by both editors, Éadaoin Regan (UCC) and Emma Dewhirst (University of Liverpool).
