Abstract

This Place uses half step-whole step symmetrical diminished scales in the formation of the main melodic theme. After the initial statement of the 12 bar theme there is a 12 bar percussion breakdown before the repeat of the main theme. This is followed by improvised solos, which are based on the melodic/harmonic structure of the written theme.The composition concludes with a double restatement of the main theme.
