Abstract
We introduce the previously unidentified Category Management Problem for Combinatorial Auctions. Two integer linear programming formulations for variants of this problem are defined and an analysis of revenue monotonicity and non-monotonicity is provided. An empirical study of simulated auction instances is provided. We also discuss extensions and possible future work in this promising area of research.
